The highly anticipated Disney Treasure was christened in a grand ceremony in New York Harbor on November 19, 2024, marking its official entry into the Disney Cruise Line fleet. Inspired by Walt Disney’s love for exploration, the adventure-themed ship promises an unparalleled family vacation experience, reports The Street.
Disney Treasure: A New Era for Disney Cruise Line
Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Experiences, described the event as part of an ambitious expansion:
“This is an unprecedented era of growth for Disney Experiences, including Disney Cruise Line, where we are more than doubling our fleet to 13 ships by 2031.”
The Disney Treasure will be the sixth addition to the fleet, with seven more ships planned for launch by 2031.
A Celebration of Disney Magic
The christening ceremony featured:
- A performance by Jordin Sparks, singing the ship’s anthem, “Live the Adventure,” the first signature song for a Disney cruise ship.
- A drone show, illuminating the sky with themes from “Aladdin,” “Coco,” “Moana,” and “Haunted Mansion,” showcasing the ship’s Disney-themed entertainment spaces.
- A traditional blessing by honorary godparents—Disney’s 200,000 employees, as announced by CEO Bob Iger.
Iger emphasized: “This incredible new ship is a shining example of everything our fans love about Disney. … We are proud to honor our more than 200,000 employees as the official godparents of the Disney Treasure.”

Disney Treasure is packed with Disney-themed venues and entertainment, including immersive spaces inspired by iconic stories like “Coco” and “Haunted Mansion.”
It continues the legacy of combining Disney’s storytelling magic with luxurious cruise experiences.
Inaugural Season
The ship’s maiden voyage, departing December 21, 2024, will be a seven-night Eastern Caribbean cruise from Port Canaveral.
Following this, the inaugural season will feature the Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries.
