Euronav Offloads Suezmax Tanker For Conversion

Euronav has sold its 2009-built suezmax tanker Felicity to an unnamed global supplier and operator of offshore floating platforms, reports Splash247.

The sale has resulted in a capital loss of approximately $3m for the company, with cash generated on the transaction after repayment of debt around $21.1m. The  157,700 dwt vessel will be converted into an FPSO by the new owner.

Paddy Rodgers, CEO of Euronav said that Euronav has once again demonstrated a capability to generate value for their stakeholders as part of their approach on fleet renewal. “This is the eighth vessel we have successfully introduced into an offshore project. It reflects our reputation for providing high quality operational tonnage for the offshore sector,” he said.

About the Company

The Belgian tanker owner operates a fleet of 68 tankers made up of 41 VLCCs, 26 suezmax tankers and one LR1 tanker.
