An hour long search and investigation revealed nothing suspicious proving the phone call fake.
Piraeus Port Authority (OLP) received a call stating that a specific Greek passenger ship carried a bomb. The anonymous phone call about a bomb was proved fake after an hour long search and investigation revealed nothing.
The authorities contacted the empty ship travelling near Mytilene islands, on a precautionary note. Immediately the crew was evacuated and the ship was taken to the port of Piraeus.
The vessel reached the port of Piraeus where it underwent an hour long investigations. In the end no suspicious object or bomb was found, and the vessel is expected to continue its course shortly.
Port of Piraeus is considered vulnerable to piracy threat as it is a shelter for refugees arriving in Greece through the islands of Eastern Aegean.
