A 44 year old Filipino who was carrying out the maintenance work died as he fell 13 meters from the deck.
The vessel was anchored about six nautical miles from the Vale jetty at Teluk Rubiah. The crew member was carrying out his routine maintenance activity on board the vessel. At 2.30 Pm he fell down from a height of 13 feet onto the deck. At 2.49 Pm, the state fire and rescue department received a distress call and dispatched a team for rescue. Before they could reach the scene, the victim was pronounced dead by a medical personnel on board of the ship.
