A fire broke out in the 240-foot super yacht and 170- foot superyacht, valuing $30 million and $20 million respectively. The other vessels in the Marina harbour departed to escape fire.
The preliminary report states that the fire broke out in the 240-foot super yacht and spread to the other yacht overnight. The firefighters struggled for four hours to contain the fire. Their efforts included simultaneously pumping out firefighting water from the vessel’s’ hull to maintain their stability.
The Social Media commentaries state that the fire started with the explosion in the electrical installation on the 240-foot super yacht and the crew tried to put off the fire initially which ended without success. Bad weather is also cited as a reason for the spreading of fire.
The marina is, however, working at full capacity.
