Kevin Newton, worker onboard the ship, has filed a lawsuit against the vessel management for the injuries sustained by him while working on the ship.
It’s alleged that:
- Newton was working on the vessel on July 26, 2012.
- He stepped backwards onto a manhole cover that was covered improperly.
- The cover flipped and stuck him in his chest and his right leg slid into the hole.
- This has caused serious injuries to the left knee, a fracture in the rib as well as injuries to his head, right flank and neck.
The worker claims an unspecified amount for the injuries sustained, loss of earnings, medical expenses as well as the physical and permanent disabilities.
