SEACOR Yangtze
The SEACOR Yangtze, an ABS-classed platform support vessel (PSV) owned by SEACOR Marine Holdings Inc., has become the tenth vessel in the fleet to be equipped with hybrid battery power. This significant upgrade marks a milestone in SEACOR Marine’s commitment to sustainable operations in Norway.
Energy Storage System Integration
In addition to the energy storage system, the SEACOR Yangtze now boasts closed bus dynamic positioning (DP) operations, a pioneering feature within SEACOR Marine’s fleet. This technological advancement aims to optimize PSV hybrid battery technology, further reducing fuel consumption, engine hours, and enhancing safe ride-through capabilities. The vessel joins six other SEACOR Marine PSVs having the ABS ESS-LiBATTERY notation.
Four additional PSVs, the ABS-classed SEACOR Ohio, SEACOR Alps, SEACOR Andes and the SEACOR Atlas, have also been contracted by SEACOR Marine for hybrid battery power upgrades. When these upgrades are completed in 2025, over half of SEACOR Marine’s PSV fleet will be powered by hybrid systems.
