In response to escalating maritime security concerns, the ICC International Maritime Bureau (IMB) has released its Piracy Report for January-September 2023. The report underscores growing apprehensions surrounding incidents in the Gulf of Guinea, the Singapore Straits, and the Callao anchorage in Peru.

The IMB Piracy Report for Jan-Sep 2023 underscores rising security threats in vital maritime zones. In the Gulf of Guinea, incidents include a surge in armed robberies, piracy, kidnapping, and violence. The Singapore Straits and Callao Anchorage note boarding, theft, and hostage-taking, with a concerning uptick in armed occurrences at Callao.
