A sudden mechanical failure in the main engine left the container ship stranded in the Port of Genoa Voltri. The vessel was towed back to the Voltri Terminal Europa container terminal safely.
The local coast guard authorities revealed that the vessel will continue its voyage only after completing the investigations. Also, the Classification Society will confirm the class certificate of the vessel to resume its voyage.
“Due to technical issues the MV Seaspan Hamburg has been stopped in Genoa Port. We expect her to continue her voyage on Friday February 19 earliest. We regret the inconvenience that these circumstances may cause,” the German Carrier informed.
