The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore has approved 60 ships for mass flowmeter bunkering operations. With this, the MPA has reached halfway of its target of approving 120 vessels for MFM bunkering operations.
According to the MPA data released, the following vessels were approved with MFM.
- Maria Cosulich,
- Praise,
- Ansheng,Harmony,
- Marine Oracle and
- Sentek 21
The above approved vessels take the current total to 60. According to the reports, MPA has informed that it expects 120 existing bunker tankers to be approved for MFM bunkering operations in Singapore by 2017.
From 2017, it is mandatory for all vessels delivering fuel oil at the port to have MFM technology.
