John Lloyd, MBA, AFNI will take up the newly created post of COO in the Nautical Institute with effect from 2nd November 2015.

Highlights From John’s illustrious career:

  • He joined Australian Maritime College(AMC) in Tasmania as a professor in the National Centre for Ports and Shipping.  He worked for seven years where he took two years leave to set up Angolan Maritime College.
  • He worked for two years in Vanuatu Maritime College, before joining AMC.
  • He worked in Flagship Training in the UK for four years.
  • He served as a senior and principal lecturer in simulation and operations for ten years in Warsash Maritime Centre.
  • He was a Marine pilot in Walvis Bay for two years.
  • He served at sea from 1975 for 16 years, gaining command in 1987.
