Italian tanker owner Navigazione Montanari has bought eight product tankers from Cyprus-based Sole Shipping, reports Riviera.
About the vessels
NAI, a Maltese subsidiary of the Italian Group has exercised call options on the tankers that were sold and leased back in December 2018. The vessels were purchased from Vassholmen Shipping, a Sole Shipping subsidiary, which focuses on sale and leaseback projects on a bareboat charter basis.
The total batch comprises of four MR1 and four MR2 tankers. The 37,500-dwt Valcadore, Valgardena, Valtellina and Valsesia were all built in 2008. MR2 tankers, Valverde and Valrossa were also built in 2008, with the other two 50,000-dwt ships, Valle Azzurra and Valle Bianca built in 2007.
