- Mr Emanuele Grimaldi, Managing Director of the Grimaldi Group, long serving ICS Board member and immediate Vice Chairman, was named as ICS Chair – Designate.
- He has been appointed at this position following a decision by the ICS Board of Directors at a recent meeting, held 22-23 June.

Mr Emanuele Grimaldi, the ICS Chair – Designate
Mr Emanuele Grimaldi, Managing Director of the Grimaldi Group, long serving ICS Board member and immediate Vice Chairman, was named as ICS Chair – Designate.
Subject to a formal election at the ICS AGM in June 2022, Mr Grimaldi will follow Mr Esben Poulsson as the next ICS Chairman when he steps down from his current position in a years’ time.
Former President of Confitarma and former President of ECSA
Mr Grimaldi is a former president of Confitarma and former President of ECSA.
He will continue to work with the present Chairman and Secretary General, Mr Guy Platten, on all ICS projects.
The projects include crew change, seafarer vaccinations and the reduction of GhG emissions in shipping.
Mr Grimaldi, a thankful man
Mr Grimaldi thanked the Board for the designation, adding, “I am extremely pleased to continue to work with all of them in this new position.”
Mr Poulsson was elected as ICS Chair in 2016 and is currently serving his third term of office.
