- Qingdao Pengteng has acquired a 1,050 teu boxship and has named it ‘Bal Boan’.
- The boxship is fitted with Unifeeder for two to four months for trading in northwest Europe and the Baltic at EUR5,700 a day.
- The company’s fleet strength has been raised to 17 ships with capacities ranging from 600 to 1,800 teu.
According to Splash, Fast growing Chinese owner Qingdao Pengteng International Ship Management Co. has added another boxship.
Fleet specs
The 2016-founded company has boosted its fleet strength to 17 ships. Pengteng has bought the 1,050 teu JR Shipping-controlled Evolution and has renamed it ‘Bal Boan’.
The ship has been fixed to Unifeeder for two to four months for trading in northwest Europe and the Baltic at EUR 5,700 a day. The vessel is then expected to move to Asia to be operated out of China.
A steady rise to the top
Pengteng recently bought the 1,083 teu Munich Trader from Lomar Shipping. The ship has since been renamed Hai Hua.
Pengteng appeared in the container sector as a NOO in 2016. It has since expanded significantly, and now controls a fleet of 17 container vessels with capacities ranging from 600 to 1,800 teu, all traded in the charter market.
