Reasons For Detention:
- Port state control officers discovered that the automatic fire extinguishing system that protects the vessel’s engine room had been disabled by the crew.
- The vessel owners failed to ensure appropriate corrective measures.
The ship may be detained till the safety breach is addressed appropriately.
