Seaspan Corporation, a worldwide leader in independent containership management and ownership, has received the delivery of a Yang Ming Wellness, 14000 TEU SAVER design containership, known for its fuel efficiency.
Yang Ming Wellness is the first 14000 TEU SAVER design container ship chartered by Seaspan. It is the fifth addition to Seaspan’s SAVER design containership and sixth delivery in 2015. This fuel efficient container is manufactured by Hyundai Heavy Industries Company Limited.
The YM Wellness will inaugurate its ten-year, fixed-rate time charter with Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation. This group, based in Taiwan, provides marine cargo transportation services in Taiwan and internationally. The delivery of the YM Wellness enlarges the group’s operating fleet to 83 vessels. It is quite likely the group may extend the charter of the ship for up to an additional two years. This ship is the fifth of a total of eight 14000 TEU SAVER design vessels to be chartered by Seaspan to Yang Ming.
