Seawing Kite Completes Validation Testing Demonstrating Fuel Savings

Based on these latest trials, Airseas is now able to project initial results of 16% fuel and emissions reductions, in line with our broader development roadmap. The performance will be optimized with upcoming onshore trials, coupled with new sea trials on a Capesize vessel owned by their client “K” line (Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd), reports LinkedIn.

Reducing emissions

After seven years of development, seeing the kite flying in “figures of 8” over the Atlantic Ocean, in complete autonomy, to deliver the first tonnes of traction, is a huge satisfaction, and a demonstration of how aerospace expertise allowed us to pass major technological challenges.
