SHI gets a major boost
South Korean shipbuilder Samsung Heavy Industries announced it has won an order to build two liquefied natural gas(LNG) pair carriers.
According to the Korean shipbuilder, the order was placed by a shipowner from the Oceania region.

A pair of LNG tankers is valued at 417 billion South Korean Won (US$376.2 million), says a company statement.
Delivery
South Korean shipbuilder Samsung Heavy Industries is scheduled to deliver the two liquefied natural gas pair carriers by July 15, 2024.

Samsung Heavy Industries is said to have won a total of 44 orders for vessels so far this year and valued at $5.4 billion.
R&D facilities for LNG
Recently the company at the George yard has successfully completed its LNG pilot test facility.
SHI is the press release that said that it is the only shipbuilding and offshore industry to provide an R&D facility, which has the ability to develop and test core technologies of the LNG value chain from natural gas production, transportation, and storage to supply.
