According to a Ukrainian negotiator and consultant, the Russian and Ukrainian officials delivered their most positive appraisals yet as the talks continued, with a result ‘days’ away as reported by The Scottish Sun.

Talk constructively

Mykhailo Podolyak, the presidential adviser, said in a video posted online: “We will not concede in principle on any positions.”

“Russia now understands this. Russia is already beginning to talk constructively.”

“I think that we will achieve some results literally in a matter of days.”

RIA news agency quoted a Russian delegate, Leonid Slutsky, as saying the talks had made substantial progress.

He said: “According to my personal expectations, this progress may grow in the coming days into a joint position of both delegations, into documents for signing”

Assistance to Ukrainians

The announcement comes as Russian airstrikes murder at least 35 people at a military base near Poland’s NATO border.

Foreign instructors were assisting Ukrainians at the base, but it is unknown whether they were present at the time.

At the Yavoriv International Center for Peacekeeping and Security, foreign military instructors have worked.

According to Ukrainian authorities, Russian forces fired more than 30 cruise missiles at the Yavoriv military installation outside Lviv, injuring 57 people, as Kyiv urges Vladimir Putin not to start “provoking” Nato members.
