A bomb attack by a female suicide attacker in the Turkish town of Suruc killed at least 30 and injured over 100 people.

The Federation of Socialist Youth Associations (SGDF) held a meeting of young activists to discuss the reconstruction of the neighbouring Syrian town of Kobane.  300 young members gathered at Amara Culture Centre in Suruc, where the explosion happened.

The incident is reported to be a suicide attack by a female suicide attacker.

“The fact that it is a suicide attack increases the possibility that IS is responsible. We think the attacker was a woman.  Preliminary findings show that she was acting on her own”, said Abdullah Ciftci, The district governor of Suruc.
