Tersan Shipyard will build 2 environmentally friendly vehicle and passenger ferries for Fjord1 ASA.
Designed by Norway’s HAV Design firm, the 84 meters long and 16.3 meters wide ferries will have a capacity of 248 passengers (including crew), 80 cars, and 6 trucks.
Features
The ferries are designed in such a way as to charge the batteries of the passengers during their disembarkation and boarding, thanks to the fast charging batteries from the shore.
Designed with a diesel-electric backup system in accordance with the changing environmental requirements of the last century, the ferries will be able to operate in all-electric mode, hybrid mode, and diesel-electric mode.
The sister ferries, which will serve between Stranda – Liabygda (NB1113) and Eidsdal – Linge (NB1114) routes, will be built to provide energy-efficient and environmentally friendly transportation with maximum comfort for vehicles and passengers.
Tersan Shipyard has successfully delivered 6 100 percent electric ferries to Fjord1 ASA since 2017.
While the construction of the 7th ferry, which will be named RØDVENFJORD, is still underway, it is preparing for delivery.
NB1113 and NB1114 will be the 8th and 9th ferries that Tersan Shipyard will build for Fjord1 ASA as proof of long-term cooperation. The new ferries are scheduled to be delivered in the second quarter of 2023.
