Zinus, a global eCommerce furniture firm, inked a Memorandum of Understanding with Maersk, the world’s largest container shipping company, on November 11th, naming Maersk as Zinus’ preferred global logistics integrator.

In 2022, Maersk will offer Zinus a consistent supply of shipping containers, allowing the company to satisfy its shipping needs while also stabilising its ocean freight costs.

Maersk will also supply additional logistical services, with the goal of the parties’ worldwide, strategic cooperation growing over time.

Strategic cooperation

The signing event was attended by YounJae Lee, the CEO and Founder of Zinus, Ditlev Blicher, Maersk’s Head of the Asia Pacific, and Adam Farmer, Maersk’s Representative Director and Head of Sales of North East Asia, among others.

The two parties agreed in the MOU that Maersk will provide a consistent supply of shipping containers as well as other logistical services in 2022. Over a 10-year period, the parties expect to continue to build and strengthen their strategic cooperation globally.

In the short run, the agreement would allow Zinus to ensure a steady supply of shipping containers at a fixed price in 2022, meeting its shipping demands and stabilising ocean freight costs in a turbulent and uncertain market.

Despite the restrictions of the present global shipping problem, Zinus announced year-over-year revenue growth of 16.3% in its Q3 results announcement, thanks in part to the steadily increasing demand for online furniture purchases, which has intensified during the course of the COVID-19 epidemic.
