Thousands in Ecuador Camped Out Overnight In Rain To See Pope Francis

On Tuesday more than 300,000 people spent the night at the Bicentennial Park in Quito waiting for the Pope to celebrate Mass.

In the city of Guayaquil, approximately 800,000 people attended the Mass Pope Francis celebrated on Monday.

This second visit of pope to this region marks the first leg of a three-country tour he is on.

The official said more than 20 people had to be treated for hypothermia after a torrential downpour.

In September, Pope Francis will travel to Cuba ahead of a trip to the US.
