Fast passenger boat MERCRAFT 2 of Mercraft Cruise Shipping Company, Philippines, caught fire, says an article published in Maritime Bulletin.
Remain missing
In the morning of May 23, approaching Real Port, Quezon, eastern Luzon, Philippines, MERCRAFT 2 caught fire.
According to the most recent data, there were 142 passengers and staff on board; 105 were recovered by 0900 LT May 23, 7 were found dead, and the remainder are still missing; a search and rescue operation is underway.
Burned out and sank
Ferry was completely engulfed in flames, burned out, and sank.
In international databases, there is no information on Mercraft passenger boats.
