Two Cargo Ships Collide

On April 7, a cargo vessel sank at sea after it collided into another cargo vessel in south China’s Zhujiang River.

What happened?

An unnamed cargo vessel loaded with cement sank at sea after it collided with another cargo vessel transporting water. The incident occurred in a section of Zhujiang River in Guangzhou city, the capital of Guangdong Province.

Crew rescued

The captain of the vessel notified the crew members who in turn notified the coast guard officials. The crew members onboard the vessel were rescued and none of the crew members were injured during the incident.

Investigation underway

The Guangzhou maritime safety administration has initiated an investigation into the incident and determine the sequence of events leading to collision.
