The Suez Canal ship that was grounded has been refloated, according to maritime company Leth Agencies.

Incident

The bulk carrier named Xin Hai Tong 23 was successfully refloated by tugboats near the southern end of the Suez Canal. The ship, sailing under the Hong Kong flag, had been in a “not under command” state and positioned at an angle next to the eastern side of the canal. The Suez Canal Authority confirmed the successful refloating but did not immediately respond to media requests for comment. This event comes two years after the infamous incident where a container ship caused a week-long blockage in the Suez Canal, one of the world’s busiest waterways. Three Egyptian tugboats were involved in the operation to refloat the vessel.
