Vessel Looses Stability Due to Heavy Icing

On February 28, a ship lost its stability after it developed a large angle of the list to heavy icing in Hanstholm.

What happened?

The vessel ‘Klondyke’ was berthed in Hanstholm when the crew members noticed that the deck of the vessel was covered with a thick coat of ice.

Loses stability

Subsequently, the vessel started developing a heavy listing towards its port side after suffering severe icing on its deck.

To stabilise the vessel, the crew members started picking the ice coat from the deck. Efforts are currently underway to stabilise the vessel by the crew members and the port officials.
