- The vessels will not dock in more than 30 public and private ports around the Cebu province.
- The vessels quarantined are running out of supplies.
According to a Maritime Bulletin report written by Mikhail Voytenko, Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia has conveyed that vessels that have visited China will not be allowed to dock in the province.
What happened?
The order was issued on ships that visited China and its surrounding regions 14 days. The concerned vessels are not allowed to immediately dock in more than 30 public and private ports around the Cebu province.
Vessels to be quarantined
The vessels planning to dock will be placed on quarantine and the health inspection team will board the vessel to inspect the vessel to assess the health of the crew members.
Only when the crew members are certified to be free from the virus, they will be allowed to dock for loading and unloading cargoes. If they are found to be suffering from a virus attack, they will not be allowed to dock.
Negros Occidental Province
Moreover, ships from China, Hong Kong, and Macau are banned from anchoring, berthing or docking at the San Carlos City Port in northern Negros Occidental Province, Negros Island.
Also, the ships are directed to proceed towards the ports of Cebu or Manila where there are quarantine facilities or qualified quarantine personnel.
Vessels running out of supplies
There are numerous vessels being kept at sea, off ports of Australia and Singapore, because of quarantine. Many of these ships are running out of supplies, including food.
