Wartsila, the leading technology group, is set to supply LNG Fuel Gas Supply (FGSS) systems for four cutting-edge 23k TEU container vessels commissioned by CMA CGM, a prominent French operator. This collaboration underscores a longstanding relationship and commitment to sustainability.

A Proven Track Record

Wärtsilä’s latest order for FGSS systems is a testament to their continued support for CMA CGM. Over the past six years, Wärtsilä has been entrusted to equip 30 of CMA CGM’s newbuild vessels with FGSS systems, reinforcing their position as a trusted partner in greening maritime operations.

Comprehensive Solution Delivery

Wärtsilä’s scope of supply encompasses the entire gamut of FGSS implementation, including system engineering, material packages, BOGC skid delivery, and the critical supervision, commissioning, and testing phases. This holistic approach ensures that the FGSS systems function reliably and efficiently in accordance with operational and classification society requirements.

Sustainable Delivery Timeline

The LNG FGSS equipment is slated for delivery to the Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding yard in early 2024. The first two of the four vessels are expected to join the fleet in Q4 2025, with the remaining pair scheduled for completion in the second half of 2026. As CMA CGM continues to invest in LNG-powered vessels, Wärtsilä plays a pivotal role in advancing sustainable maritime transport.
