[Watch] Bulk Carrier Blackout & Engine Failure!

A Very Large Bulk Carrier got disabled after engine failure and a blackout, while leaving Jiangyin port, Yangtze river on Apr 27, reports Maritime Bulletin.

What happened?

Very Large Bulk Carrier MAX WARRIOR suffered engine failure and a blackout on Apr 27. The bulk carrier was leaving Jiangyin port, Yangtze river, upstream from Shanghai. 

Carrier went out of control!

The ship had two pilots on board and assisting tugs. 

The Bulk carrier went out of control in heavily trafficked area with strong river current adding to the situation. 

Rescue operations

6 tugs responded to an emergency in taking giant ship under control and MAX WARRIOR was brought to anchor in front of Jiangyin. 

Voyage resumed

Power was restored finally and MAX WARRIOR resumed voyage in the afternoon Apr 28.
