Bulk carrier dragged anchor and drifted aground during the night Oct 25-26 at Boshnyakovo Anchorage, reports Maritime Bulletin. 

What happened?

Bulk carrier MERCURY OCEAN dragged anchor and drifted aground during the night Oct 25-26 at Boshnyakovo Anchorage, western Sakhalin Island coast, Tatarskiy Strait. 

The ship was reported to be partially loaded and was loading coal. By the time of the accident, some 12,000 tons of coal were on board. 

Crew remained on board and no danger of major disaster was reported. SAR tug left for support from Korsakov Port, southern Sakhalin.
