[Watch] Containers Blown Away While Unloading!

Gale-force wind blew off several containers down while unloading a mega container ship, reports Maritime Bulletin.

What happened?

The giant ship arrived at Zeebrugge, Belgium early in the morning May 2, from Felixtowe UK. 

Gale-force wind gusts blew off several containers from mega container ship OOCL UNITED KINGDOM, while workers were unloading containers around 7.15 a.m.

Joke Swyngedouw, spokeswoman for the port said, “The containers had just been detached to be taken off board.”

He added that of the empty containers, two ended up in the water and a few others on the quay and no one got injured.

Floating and crashed containers were seen both in water and on pier alongside container ship. 

Containers brought back

He said that the containers that ended up in the water were brought back to the quay within an hour.
