[Watch] Spectacular Launch of LNG-Powered Dry Cargo Ship at Ferus Smit

The cement carrier –  MV Ireland was launched sideways by the Dutch shipbuilder Ferus Smit on 19th March 2016.  This is the second of the two of the world’s first LNG dry cargo ships.  The first one was MV Greenland which was delivered to JT Cement in the month of December, 2015.

The vessel features:

  • A unique LNG fuel tank positioned in an upright position in the foreship.
  • A state-of-the-art cement cargo system, which uses a fully automated cement loading and unloading system that uses compressed air for fluidization of cement.
