Highlights:

  • It is a  eco-friendly marine engine that can run on heavy fuel oil that costs half as much as marine gas oil.
  • The product can reduce NOx emission up to 99 percent by using ammonia as a catalyst.
  • The engine abides by the IMO NOx Tier III requirement that took effect in January 2016.

The certificate test of HP-SCR was completed in the presence of DNV GL in December 2015.  The 20,600 m3 LPG carrier under construction at Hyundai Mipo Dockyard, a shipbuilding affiliate of HHI, will be the first to get equipped with this product on 5th February 2016.

Already, HHI has received 5 orders and has set the annual order target of more than 100 units by 2018.
