Yangzijiang Earns 3 New Shipbuilding Orders

  • As of the end of April 2021, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding has secured 75 new orders for ships with a total contract value of $4.01 billion this year.
  • However, Yangzijiang has not stopped taking orders, the company received another order for three new ships.

According to an article published in Xinde Marine News, Yangzijiang has won orders for 3 new ships of two types.

2400TEU Containerships Contract

On June 11, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding and CULines signed a contract for the construction of two 2400TEU container ships.

The order for two 2,400TEU container ships is the first joint project between Yangzijiang Shipbuilding and CULines. The vessels, designed by SDARI, are the latest type of feeder container ships. The main engine is adopted to improve the energy saving and transport efficiency of the ship to a higher level, meeting the requirements of IMO EEDI Phase III.

Containership Delivery

The new ship, which will be classed into Lloyd’s Register (LR), is scheduled to be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2023 and will be operational on Asian routes after delivery.

29,800 DWT Vessel Contract

YAMIC and Canadian shipowner Algoma Central Corporation have successfully signed a contract for the construction of a 29,800 DWT Great Lake self-unloading vessel.

The vessel is about 225.55m in length, 222.485m between columns, 23.77m in width, 14.70m in depth, 8.15m in design draft and 9.50m in construction draft. It is classified into LR. It is scheduled to be delivered at the end of 2023.

Yangzijiang’s Delivery

Yangzijiang has built and successfully delivered five vessels for Algoma, including three self-unloading vessels and two non-self-unloading ships. This vessel will be the sixth vessel to be built for the owner.
