The master of the Russian tanker fainted, when the tanker en route to Vysotsk port was in the eastern Gulf of Finland. After a request made by the vessel for medevac, the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) requested the Russian Emergency Agency for a helicopter for hospitalising the master. The request was refused on the grounds that no helicopters were available for medevac activities. Hence, MRCC sent a speed boat along with the doctor. The doctor confirmed that he was dead.
