In France people work for 35 hours a week. If they work overtime, they have to be adequately compensated. Even then, they can’t be expected to work for more than 48 hours per week and 10 hours per day. Health and safety inspectors monitor the working hours of employees.

The Red Cross which already has a deficit of €5 million (£3.56 million) last year and with its increased activities but reduced donations is facing a financial problem in the slumping French economy.
