A cargo vessel which experienced engine trouble off Wick earlier today is heading for Scapa Flow tonight, being towed by the local tug Einar.

Wick Lifeboat was initially tasked to the vessel, the 88m long Bahamas registered Jomi, which is carrying a load of timber, and is manned by a crew of six, according to the Coastguard.

The Coastguard emergency towing vessel Ievoli Black is also on scene, shadowing the tow, added the MCA.

The pilot boat John Rae is also on scene as the ship enters Scapa Flow.
