The captain of a ferry reportedly collapsed on 24th December and fell on the ship’s control panel causing a collision.
What happened?
The captain of the ferry Wenatchee belonging to Point Defiance – Tahlequah line collapsed and hit the control panel when he fell. The resulting impact caused the ferry to lurch forward and collide with the pier.
The bridge watch officials rushed to the Captain’s aid and took control of the ship.
The captain is said to have suffered a massive heart attack was revived using a defibrillator. He was taken to the hospital and his condition remains unknown.
Following the collision, service was suspended until the repairs on the pier were completed.
