Long Term Charter Deals Acquired by Flex LNG

Flex LNG has secured two charter deals with a minimum firm period of three years for each of its two LNG carriers Flex Resolute and Flex Courageous as reported by MarineLink.

Large LNG Parcels

The Oslo-listed firm said Monday that the charterer was an energy major.

The charterer will have the option to extend each ship by two additional two-year periods bringing the total period to seven years under each of the charter deals.

“This makes the ship very flexible and fuel-efficient for transportation of large LNG parcels with close to zero percent methane slip from the main engines,” Flex LNG said.

The charters remain subject to final documentation and certain closing conditions, Flex LNG said.

Flex LNG Management States

Flex LNG Management AS CEO Øystein M Kalleklev said: “We are glad to announce the signing of two new time charter contracts, this time with an Energy Major. We have so secured long-term fixed hire employment for eight, probably nine, of our ships since April, in keeping with our stated objective of securing a good revenue backlog if the market improves.

Our firm contract backlog now stands at approximately 33 years, with another 36 years of optional backlog. This emphasises the appeal of owning and managing highly efficient ships that have a considerably smaller carbon footprint than older ships.”
