Navy Rescues The Sinking Ship’s Crew

A Royal Thai Navy rescued seven Burmese crew off the sinking ship and brought them back to Phuket.

After receiving the distress call from the cargo ship around 5 pm on 29th December, the frigate HTMS Saiburi set sail from Phuket and began the rescue operation.  By 8pm all the crew members were rescued.

Preliminary information reports that the strong winds and high waves caused the vessel to sink.  The vessel was enroute from Myanmar to Penang in Malaysia.
