  • The MABUX World Bunker Index displayed a slight upward trend on Jan. 29, marking its fifth consecutive day of increase.
  • The MABUX MBP/DBP Index (MDI) for selected ports (Rotterdam, Singapore, Fujairah, and Houston) showed.
  • Across selected ports (Rotterdam, Singapore, Fujairah, and Houston), the MABUX MBP/DBP Index (MDI) was revealed.

MABUX World Bunker Index (as index calculated based on current prices for 380 HSFO, VLSFO, and MGO) continued a slight uptrend evolution on Jan.29, marking the fifth consecutive day:

380 HSFO – USD/MT – 514.89 (+4.81)

VLSFO – USD/MT – 670.49 (+6.57)

MGO – USD/MT – 914.23 (+10.25)

HSFO Shifts

As of Jan.29, the MABUX MBP/DBP Index (MDI), which tracks the correlation between market bunker prices (MBP) and the MABUX digital bunker price benchmark (DBP), revealed the following trends at four selected ports: Rotterdam, Singapore, Fujairah, and Houston.

– HSFO segment: All four selected ports experienced undercharging, with the underprice premium decreasing by $7 in Singapore, $9 in Fujairah, and $1 in Houston. The MDI index in Rotterdam remained unchanged.

VLSFO Shifts

– VLSFO segment: Houston has shifted back to the overcharge zone, joining Singapore and Fujairah, with the ratio widening by $11 in Singapore, $4 in Fujairah, and $5 in Houston. The only undercharged port remained Rotterdam, with the underprice premium widening by $3.

MGO LS Shifts

– MGO LS segment: All four selected ports remained undercharged. Undercharge premiums have dropped by $11 in Rotterdam, $14 in Singapore, $14 in Fujairah, and $9 in Houston.

We do not expect a firm trend in the Global bunker market on Jan.30: 380 HSFO –minus 2-5 USD/MT, VLSFO – minus 3-6 USD/MT, MGO LS – plus-minus 2-10 USD/MT.
