NYK recently hosted its annual Dry Bulk Safety Conference at its Tokyo headquarters. Since its initiation in 2010, this conference has served as a platform to promote safety awareness and review responses to issues concerning dry bulk vessels, states the press release issued by NYK.

Main Agenda Of The Meeting

This year, the event drew 118 participants from 38 Japanese shipowners and ship-management companies, alongside representatives from RightShip and ClassNK, the Japanese classification society.

The conference agenda encompassed past incidents, enhancing onboard conditions, and health measures for seafarers, and awarded eight vessels for outstanding performance. 

Further Discussions

Discussions included RightShip’s revised GHG Rating and ClassNK’s SOLAS Convention amendments. The conference promoted lively discussions and aimed to enhance dry bulk safety practices for all involved.
