Odfjell Grows Fleet: Six New Vessels, Stronger Japanese Ties

Odfjell, a faithful player in worldwide chemical tanker freight transport, confirms partnerships with Japanese shipowners and manufacturers regarding six modern ships. The company’s approach towards sustainability and fleet modernization.

Strategic Fleet Expansion

The six ships comprising Odfjell’s fleet renewal plan include four 40,000 dwt stainless steel super segregator chemical tankers and 25 – 26,000 dwt stainless steel chemical tankers. Delivery between 1H2026-1H2027, these vessels boost Odfjell’s worldwide trades.

Sustainability Commitment

The agreements follow an environmentalist pattern that fits Odfjell’s pledge towards an environmentally friendly approach. Furthermore, the company’s fleet which is considered the most energy-efficient in the shallow and deep-sea chemical tanker segment is supported by modern tonnage. To this end, 50% of the carbon intensity reduction target for 2030 has been reached by Odfjell who is also keen on innovations for additional emissions reduction.

Recently, Odfjell has been recognized within its industry for leading sustainability efforts among shipping companies – winning the ‘Environmental Award’ and being named ‘Tanker Operator of the Year.‘
