77

SANMAR continues to be a pioneer in the tug industry’s transition to a sustainable low- and zero-emission future by carrying out the hair cutting of dual fuel – diesel / methanol – tugs, which will be the first in the world.

TMEP

RAsalvor 4400-DFM, specially designed by Robert Allan for SANMAR and KOTUG requirements, will serve for Canada’s Trans Mountain Expansion Project (TMEP).

First tugs in Canada

The unique tugs, which will be operated by KOTUG Canada, will be the first tugs Sanmar has built for the Netherlands-based international operator.

These tugs, which are planned to be put into service in 2025, will be Canada’s most powerful tugboats. They will have a towing capacity of 120 tonnes and will also provide greenhouse gas emissions reduction and significantly reduce noise emitted underwater.
