Two Vessels Stranded With COVID19 Positive Crew

Two ships, namely a bulk carrier in Ningbo and a reefer in Faroe Islands, were stuck with positive test, writes Mikhail Voytenko for Maritime Bulletin.

Crazy testing in China

Bulk carrier BUNUN GLORY arrived at Ningbo China on July 26, from Japan. 19 crew were tested and 4 were found to be positive.

Another type of test was taken, which found, that 5 other crew though not exactly infected, may be infected.

Along with the other 4 members they have been taken to a different hospital.

The rest of the crew remain on board. Ship’s under quarantine, all crew, including infected, not infected but probably infected, and not infected / probably infected, are healthy.

Positive cases on Lithuanian reefer

Six members of a 23-crew Lithuanian reefer CASSIOPEA were declared test positive on July 28 and the ship is berthed in Klaksvik, Faroe Islands.

The vessel arrived from Canary islands. As of July 30, ship remained in the same position.
