Bulk carrier suffered a major fire, which started around noon Dec 4, at Gothenburg anchorage, Sweden, reports Maritime Bulletin.
What happened?
The vessel arrived at anchorage at around 1000 UTC Dec 4 from Vallvik, Sweden Gulf of Bothnia.
Firefighters together with the 17 crew on board have been fighting fire throughout the night, and it’s not yet under control, though understood, restricted.
Firefighting is hampered by a strong wind blowing up fire, to such an extent, that the deployed tugs tried to keep the ship in most favorable for fighting position. Fire is raging in fore cargo hold, or holds.
