Hamburg Port Authority(HPA) has released a video featuring the process of testing mega-ships before they are used for transport.
The port authority is very eager in learning about how wind affects a large container-ship when it is moored at the port. The model ships will be used to test at a wind tunnel at Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation.
It helps the Port Authorities:
- To know how mooring procedures can be optimised and
- To enable the port to dock the next generation of mega-ships.
