Chemical Tanker Struck Cargo Ship, 4 Missing

Chemical tanker collided with a coastal wooden cargo ship on Oct 29 in the morning Oct 29 south of Aru Islands, Dobo, Maluku Province, Indonesia, Arafura sea, reports Maritime Bulletin.

What happened?

At the time of collision, both ships were trying to avoid collision with several local fishing boats in the area.

Tanker struck cargo ship by her bow in portside hull, making her capsize. Of 32 people on board, 28 were rescued by NEW GLOBAL, 4 went missing.

Tanker was en route from New Guines Indonesia to Gresik, after collision she sailed to Dobo, to disembark rescued people, and as of morning Nov 2, was still anchored there, understood under investigation.
