[Watch] Tanker Hits Two Berthed Ships Off Taiwan

On November 3, a tanker wrecked havoc in Kaohsiung harbour after it struck two berthed ships while trying to leave the port.

What happened?

The tanker ‘Kinshing’ struck tow berthed vessels, a container vessel ‘Setsu Maru’ and a chemical tanker ‘Der Yun’ at the Kaohsiung harbor, Taiwan when it was trying to leave the port.

Wrecked havoc

The tanker first struck the container ships which sustained damages in its cargo deck and then it proceeded to cross the basin and struck the port side of the chemical tanker inflicting serious damages to the tanker.

Tanker brought under control

The tanker was brought under control and is currently berthed at the port for further assessment as it sustained bow damages. The containership was deemed fit and allowed to leave the port whereas the chemical tanker has been docked at the port for further repairs.
